Within the framework of the competition "Purchase of scientific devices/equipment for the purpose of re-equipping scientific centers with modern equipment" announced by the Higher Education and Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport RA, an Automated Microwave Peptide Synthesizer, Tristar 5 Multimode Microplate Reader with its accessories and NGC Quest 10 Plus Fast/Efficient Protein Liquid Chromatography system with its kit were purchased by the SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA.

The Automated Microwave Peptide Synthesizer will promote the development of solid-phase synthesis of long-chain peptides. It enables the synthesis of peptide chain with different amino acid sequence and length using solid phase synthesis methods. In case of appropriate supplies, the device enables the synthesis of other organic compounds as well. It is planned to carry out the synthesis of peptide chain containing both protein and non-protein amino acids at the SPC “Armbiotechnology” NAS RA.

Tristar 5 Multimode Microplate Reader is a device for detecting absorbance, luminescence and fluorescence intensity and polarization in immunoassays. The device is used in basic biochemical research, biotechnology and pharmacology for implementing fast, highly sensitive complex methods.

The NGC Quest 10 Plus device is an improved version of Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC).  The researchers often use the term of Medium Pressure Liquid Chromatography. A column (stationary phase) is attached to the system, through which the target material passes and its components are separated. Depending on the choice of a column, separation takes place according to different principles.

The NGC Quest 10 Plus Liquid Chromatography System is necessary for the separation of various molecules (proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides or other relatively smaller molecules such as peptides) in complex multicomponent mixtures. Liquid Chromatography can be used both for analytical purposes and for obtaining a certain amount of the target substance.
